For Healthcare Providers
Partnering to Advance Neurological Recovery
At the Neuro Recovery Institute (NRI), we work alongside physicians, neurologists, physiatrists, physical
therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide technology-assisted neurorehabilitation for individuals
living with chronic neurological disorders.
Our goal is simple: To help patients achieve meaningful functional improvements while keeping referring
providers fully informed throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Conditions We Support
We work with adults experiencing neurological impairment resulting from:
Stroke
Parkinson’s disease
Multiple sclerosis
Traumatic brain injury
Vestibular disorders
Cerebellar disorders and ataxias
Incomplete spinal cord injury
Functional neurological disorders
Other neurological conditions where improved balance, mobility, endurance, coordination, or motor control are rehabilitation goals
Our Rehabilitation Model
NRI combines traditional neurorehabilitation principles with the Outbounder ARS, an immersive rehabilitation
system designed to provide repetitive, multisensory movement training.
Each client receives:
Comprehensive clinical evaluation
Individualized rehabilitation plan
Technology-assisted exercise sessions
Continuous monitoring
Periodic reassessment using standardized outcome measures
Our model emphasizes high repetition, patient engagement, and intensive practice to support neuroplasticity.
Objective Clinical Outcomes
Every client undergoes standardized assessments appropriate to their condition. Typical outcome measures include:
Berg Balance Scale
Timed Up and Go (TUG)
Simplified STREAM
Nine Hole Peg Test
Lawton IADL
PEG Pain Scale
PHQ-9
MoCA (when appropriate)
Caregiver Strain Index
Progress is documented throughout treatment, allowing referring providers to review measurable functional change.
Why Refer to NRI?
Focus on Chronic Recovery
Many neurological patients continue to improve months—or even years—after injury when provided with
appropriate, intensive rehabilitation. NRI specializes in individuals who may have plateaued in conventional
rehabilitation but remain motivated to pursue further functional gains.
Individualized Care
Unlike high-volume outpatient settings, every session is delivered one-to-one in an appointment-only
environment. Treatment plans are individualized to each patient’s goals, impairments, tolerance, and progress.
Technology-Assisted Therapy
The Outbounder ARS provides immersive, multisensory movement experiences that encourage repetition,
engagement, and task-specific practice. The system is used as part of a broader clinical rehabilitation program
rather than as a standalone intervention.
Experienced Clinical Oversight
Treatment programs are developed and supervised by licensed physical therapists experienced in neurological
rehabilitation. Clinical oversight ensures therapy remains individualized, safe, and goal-directed.
Private-Pay Model
NRI operates on a cash-pay (self-pay) basis and does not bill insurance. This model allows us to provide
intensive, highly individualized one-to-one care free from third-party visit limits and authorization constraints —
precisely the flexibility many chronic neurological patients need after traditional therapy has plateaued.
Transparent pricing and flexible payment options (including payment plans) are discussed in advance with
every client.
Who May Benefit?
Patients who:
Have completed traditional therapy
Have plateaued but remain motivated
Want to improve walking
Want to improve balance
Want to improve endurance
Want to improve upper-limb function
Wish to reduce fall risk
Seek greater independence

Frequently Asked Questions
Does NRI replace physical therapy?
No. NRI complements ongoing medical management and may complement conventional rehabilitation. Care remains coordinated with the referring provider.
Is a referral required?
While patients may self-refer where permitted, referrals from physicians and other healthcare professionals are welcomed and facilitate coordinated care.
Will I receive progress reports?
Yes. We provide updates throughout the rehabilitation program and a final summary upon completion.
Do you accept insurance?
No. NRI is a private-pay (cash-pay) practice. We do not bill insurance directly. This approach enables more intensive and flexible rehabilitation free from third-party restrictions. We provide detailed receipts and documentation that some patients successfully submit for out-of-network reimbursement.
