The Neuro Recovery Institute (NRI) exists to change the way recovery is experienced.
Our centers are built around the Outbounder Advanced Rehabilitation System (ARS).
A breakthrough platform proven to help survivors regain mobility, balance, and function when other therapies have plateaued.
Our first commercial Center opens in College Business Park, Upland CA in December 2025.
Martin’s personal mission
Martin Perminas founded NRI in honor of his wife Dr. Dipannita Basu (1961–2025), who lived with the challenges of stroke and later stage 4 cancer, yet inspired everyone around her with resilience, courage, and love for community.
As the main test pilot for the Outbounder, Dipa completed more than 200 sessions on the system. She not only provided invaluable feedback that shaped many of its refinements, but also truly enjoyed using it. The Outbounder became a source of strength and vitality, significantly improving her quality of life during her final years.
Her legacy ensures that every client who steps onto the Outbounder benefits not only from advanced engineering but also from the lived experience of someone who tested it with joy, determination, and honesty.
What we do
We believe recovery does not stop after a few months. With the right tools, survivors can continue improving for years. That’s why NRI offers:
Breakthrough Technology – Exclusive access to the Outbounder ARS, shaped by over 200 real-world sessions with Dipa and other early clients, constantly refined to meet their needs.
Tailored Programs – Every session is customized to meet each client’s goals, ability level, and recovery timeline.
Support for Families – Our approach reduces caregiver burden while restoring hope and independence.
Premium Experience – Calm, supportive, and private environments designed for focus, progress, and dignity.
Our promise
At NRI, we don’t just support recovery—we help people rediscover what’s possible. Every milestone, no matter how small, represents freedom gained and quality of life restored.
